CircusWest offers advanced training opportunities for those serious about circus arts. From our preparatory program to private coaching and audition mentoring, we offer a wide range of professional development opportunities for CircusWest graduates and community members who want to take their training to the next level.

  • Pro+ Friday Training (Formerly Informal Training): Open to members over 18 years old. Access our facility with minimal coach supervision.  Enjoy a relaxed training atmosphere with professional rigging and on-site coach support.

  • Pro+ Training (Formerly Circus Artist Training Session): Designed for professional circus artists, this program provides access to our space and equipment on Tuesday & Thursday.

  • Professional Development Programs: From preparatory training to private coaching andaudition mentoring, we provide comprehensive support for CircusWest graduates and community members ready to take their training to the next level.

Our Provincial Performance Preparatory Program “4P” governs the post-secondary and professional programming options at CircusWest. This includes pathways for existing students, adults looking to expand their skill set, and athletes interested in cross-training and professional development.

Professional Development FAQ

What is a Skills Assessment? 

The Skills Assessment is conducted on-site by one of our head coaches.
Artists are appraised based on a series of base criteria including athletic readiness, command of equipment, and general experience within a circus gym setting.

Do I have to pay insurance? 

Participating in formal insurance coverage allows us to keep our doors open safely and confidently for everyone. 

Starting September 1, 2025 insurance fees are now included in your program tuition.

What does the membership fee cover? 

As a nonprofit organization we rely on membership fees to cover our operational costs. Members are also included in decision making and community initiatives.
Our yearly membership is valid for all training sessions, classes & workshops from September 1st till August 31st.
Membership is a once-per -year fee due upon your first visit to our facility each season.

Can I train additional hours? 

Looking to level up your professional training? Our 4P, Pro Pathway & Pro+ programs offer coach support, custom circus curriculum, and a calendar with fixed benchmarks - designed to move you from inspiration to activation! More information is available on our Pathways page

I am in town with a professional circus show, can I train at CircusWest?

Yes - We love meeting other members of the circus community! Please email us at info@circuswest.com for training options. 

What is the training schedule? 

We follow the Vancouver School Board Calendar. Notice of additional closures will be sent to all members by email. We close annually in August fr two weeks during the PNE Summer Fair.
