CircusWest is a comprehensive circus arts centre for all ages. We offer children, teens, and adults an opportunity to explore circus arts in an encouraging, non-competitive environment. CircusWest is a creative space where individuals can dream big, push limits, and defy gravity.
CircusWest in Action
The staff and students of CircusWest work and play on the unceded, ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, Sto:lo, Stz'uminus, Qayqayt and Squamish Nations. We are grateful for this land and the ongoing stewardship of it by these nations.

16 DAYS AND COUNTING!
Only 16 days until THE LITTLE PRINCE CIRCUS debuts at the PNE FORUM. Two shows daily on May 30th-June 2nd.
The show tells the story of a little prince who travels throughout the galaxy, meeting interesting characters and making some friends along the way. The little prince also discovers things about themself and how to contribute productively to the communities encountered. The show is a parable mixed with circus mixed with a whole lot of fun!
The show is based on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's classic fable 'Le Petit Prince' -- but we have taken some liberties and made it our own. We do not want to give too much away -- so you will have come and see for yourself!

Due to popular demand, we are adding a NEW TGIC TRAMP CLASS starting Friday, February 23rd at 6:00pm.
The acrobatic class, as part of our THANK GOODNESS IT'S CIRCUS Trampoline Class is geared for youth aged 8-16 --- and focuses on Tramp Level 1 and 2 fundamentals. The Friday 6:00pm class runs Fridays for 5 weeks.

INVERT THYSELF!
Come and invert yourself at CircusWest! We have openings in our core Cirkids program for you youth aged 5-19. We have NEW openings in our weekend LIONS and TIGERS, & RINGMASTERS classes too. Cirkids youth learn circus fundamentals in acrobatics, trampoline aerials, juggling and unicycling to start. And, we also spend time working on the very important HANDSTAND. In circus, a good handstand is a vital skill as it reinforces an engaged core, proper alignment, strength, hand eye coordination, and focus.
We also have a big roster of Adult & Teen Circus specialty classes starting this February where you can also invert yourself -- including aerial silks, aerial hoop and trapeze, handstands, main a main, roue cyr, swing trapeze and more.

NATIONAL CIRCUS SCHOOL (ENC) AT CIRCUSWEST! Today, CircusWest hosted the western leg of the Montreal’s National Circus School auditions. Circus hopefuls from Arizona, San Diego, Washington State, and across BC tried out for a spot at the prestigious Quebec professional circus training school. Since 2004, CircusWest has hosted the ENC auditions and their coaches have delivered a MASTERCLASS for our Performance Stream students. Here, they are learning finer techniques of handstands. THREE HIGH! Stefan, Maya and Momiji train their standing three high skill with coach Sylvain tonight. They are preparing an act for May 30th-June 2nd show of THE LITTLE PRINCE CIRCUS! Tickets will go on sale in February for our circus adaptation of Le Petit Prince — a novella written and illustrated by French aristocrat, writer, and military pilot Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The show chronicles a young prince who visits various planets, including Earth, and addresses themes of loneliness, friendship, love, and loss. THE REVIEWS ARE IN! The school kids have spoken. CircusWest is FUN! CircusWest welcomed a school group today to our special 13000 square foot circus gym. Participants tried trampoline, acrobatics, juggling, human pyramids, and aerials. In the past, we have welcomed all types of groups for special circus training group workshops. These include: elementary schools, high schools, colleges, universities, TED conference attendees, youth groups, Indigenious groups, dance troupes, theatre students, deaf students, blind students, and the list goes on and on.
